2017 Jaguar XJ vs. 2017 Maserati Ghibli
If you’re in the market for an elite European luxury sedan with strong performance credentials, the 2017 Jaguar XJ has likely entered your short list of models to consider. The 2017 Maserati Ghibli certainly deserves a spot on that list as well, though in a variety of ways it falls short of the Jaguar model. Do your research on both models with this short comparison guide, and make it to Jaguar West Chester to get a closer look at the new Jaguar XJ.
The Jaguar XJ and Maserati Ghibli both get a standard turbocharged 3.0L V6 engine on their respective base trims. Next up for the Jaguar XJ is a supercharged 5.0L V8, which generates 470 hp and 424 lb-ft of torque on the Supercharged trim and 550 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque on the XJR trim. The only other available option on the Maserati Ghibli is a specially tuned version of the V6 engine with 410 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque.
Both of these luxury sedans come standard with a number of predictably elite features, even at the base level, including features like leather upholstery, keyless entry, and push-button start, and a premium infotainment system and touchscreen with smartphone app integration and a navigation system rearview camera. Unlike the Maserati model, though, the Jaguar XJ also comes with a power trunk lid, front and rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, and a portable Wi-Fi hotspot.
Additionally, the Jaguar model sports a standard 14-speaker Meridian™ sound system, whereas the Maserati Ghibli only gets a standard 8-speaker sound system.
