• The high-end Model 3 is only available with synthetic premium leatherette seating surfaces. If you want the real deal, you’ll have to opt for the I-PACE, which offers true leather seats as an option in its baseline trim.

• Features like rain-sensing windshield wipers and a leather-wrapped steering wheel come standard in the I-PACE, but you won’t find them in the priciest version of the Model 3. Advanced features like a Heads-Up Display are optional in the base I-PACE, but unavailable in the Tesla.

• Standard Air Suspension and an optional Active Suspension System give the electric I-PACE the kind of drive that a luxury vehicle should offer. Neither is available in the Performance trim of the Model 3.

The Bottom Line: While the Model 3 has some nice finishing touches and a suite of intuitive interior features, the long-standing luxury experts at Jaguar have made a car that looks and feels just as good on the inside as it does on the street. Tesla still has a ways to go, and with no compact SUV option, the I-PACE will be preferred by drivers who value utility.
